Stooping Buzzard 1

73cmsx23cms

This panel is one of my favourites. It is a reflection on the buzzards all around here.  A family have been using a dead oak as their hunting central for most of the summer. There were two broods and the older ones hung about while the new brood were learning to hunt for themselves. I didn’t know that happened.

I’ve used emulsion and exterior paint mixed with watercolour on this panel because it was to hand and I didn’t want to stop once I’d started. I’ve oiled the finished panel which makes the unpainted buzzard much darker and the most dominating element in the work.
